The Banff Mountain Photo Essay Competition aims to showcase the best in mountain-themed photo essays, telling compelling stories through a series of still images. We invite photographers to submit mountain-related photos covering themes such as culture, adventure, wildlife, sport, environment, or natural history. The jury seeks a sequence of images that conveys a compelling story or message, with each image strong enough to stand on its own while contributing to a greater narrative in the photographer’s desired sequence.

The competition focuses on mountain photo essays, with submissions consisting of 3 to 5 images that tell a mountain-related story. Themes can include culture, adventure, wildlife, sport, environment, or natural history. Each image should stand alone while contributing to a cohesive narrative.
參賽資格：
比賽對業餘和專業攝影師開放。參賽者必須是所提交作品的作者和唯一版權持有人，且圖片需在過去兩年內拍攝（2024年至2025年）。每組3至5張照片構成一個參賽作品。班夫中心
The competition is open to both amateur and professional photographers. Entrants must be the author and sole copyright owner of all submitted images, which should have been taken within the last two years (2024–2025). Each entry consists of a photo essay with 3 to 5 images.

評審規範：
所有參賽作品將由以節日總監為主席的評選委員會審閱，該委員會將選出入圍者，並由國際評審團進行最終評選。評審團尋求能夠傳達引人入勝故事或訊息的照片序列，每張照片既能獨立展現，又能在整體序列中傳遞更完整的敘事。
All entries will be reviewed by a selection committee chaired by the Festival Director. Finalists chosen by this committee will be evaluated by an international jury. The jury seeks a sequence of images that conveys a compelling story or message, with each image strong enough to stand alone while contributing to a cohesive narrative.
評分標準：
評審將根據作品在構圖、技術、內容和創意方面的表現進行評分，特別關注作品在傳達山地故事方面的有效性。每張照片應該能夠獨立展現，同時在整體序列中傳遞更完整的敘事。
Judging will be based on composition, technique, content, and creativity, with a focus on the effectiveness of conveying a mountain story. Each image should stand alone while contributing to a cohesive narrative.
